Lead in Denver Public Schools

At DPS, we are driven by our shared vision that Every Child Succeeds. In order to realize this vision, we need the right leaders in the right schools to help us remove barriers to success for our students. DPS is raising the bar for urban public education, and we invite committed leaders to join us as we innovate, motivate and make a real impact for our kids.

Our schools need leaders who can embrace and build upon the unique strengths of their students, team members and community – leaders who can dream big, set a vision and work with their team to make it real. The work is big, but so are the possibilities – and we are looking for dedicated leaders who are excited to join us on this journey.

Opportunities to Lead

We know every one of our students comes to us with talent, potential and dreams. Regardless of where they live, how much money their parents make, their ability level or the color of their skin, every child deserves a high-quality education at a great school with inspiring leadership.

Step up to lead in DPS as we innovate, motivate and make a real impact for our teams and kids. There are a variety of ways to make a difference as a school leader in DPS:

Leader Growth and Development

DPS designed the Leadership Excellence and Development (LEAD) growth and performance system to support Instructional Leadership Teams and improve student achievement. This includes the LEAD Framework which defines what excellent school leadership looks like. LEAD also helps school leaders develop their skills by identifying their areas of strength and opportunities for growth. This happens through supervisor and teacher feedback paired with access to personalized professional learning opportunities.

LEAD aligns closely with our teacher-focused growth and performance system LEAP (Leading Effective Academic Practice). Together, the two systems support the growth of all educators in every school.
