Update – Sept 9, 2021
When to keep kids home from school
Wondering when to keep your child home? Check out these informational fliers from CDPHE! English, Spanish
The rule of thumb: if a student has one or more symptoms of illness, especially COVID related symptoms, please keep them home to get better.
Symptoms resolved within 24 hours? As soon as a student is 24 hours symptom free (without medicine) from symptoms lasting 24 hours or less, they can come back to school
Symptoms hanging on for more than 24 hours? If a student gets a negative COVID test after a cold lasting more than 24 hours, they can come back to school 24 hours after symptoms have resolved (without medicine)
Does your student have explained (non COVID) symptoms? If your student has documented causes of symptoms that are NOT COVID (such as allergies), we will ask for a note from the doctor to help us create a health and safety plan for your student (eg. when to take an inhaler)
Exposed to COVID? Please let the office know, we will help you with timelines and next steps for quarantine. Students exposed should not come to school until after quarantine. Note: we are experiencing delays in responding to messages on the main line. You can also email Email Sharlene Montalvo or Email Norma Chipcastro
When kids must stay home from school, what can we expect for classwork?
First and foremost, please let kids rest and heal when they don’t feel well.
If a student is out on quarantine, but well enough to engage in school work, teachers will work to support them by sending any school work home with them, and/or inputting assignments into schoology or seesaw.
